Steam validating game files stuck
You can do it manually from the properties tab by right clicking in the game list.
[img] Whenever I launch Garry's Mod, I get a "Validating Steam Files - 0%" then suddenly it jumps to 100% and doesn't launch but the window disapeers.
[img] Now, I've had the validating steam files error for a bit of a time, and the solution was to just restart my computer, however, the "Download Starting..." is making it impossible for me to play any game I wish.
Here's what it looks like: Both were free and both download updates incessantly, so I uninstalled them.
I've been aware of the validate steam cache files for a while.
Steam support suggested it once and it got me out of a problem I had, so I try it again on occasion.
It appears to compare checksums of your local files with the cloud and will re-download any invalid files again.
I'm curious as to what exactly the verify option does.
I know on some other games I have tried it on, steam will end up downloading some files, but apparently not all files are included in this.
I've also run the Disk Checking tools from my C Drive Properties Tools menu, as well as run "chkdsk /f" which runs chkdsk on boot, neither run showed any errors in the drive.
I've set my BIOS back to defaults with no overclocks and eliminated all but the essential services and programs from starting doing boot, including disabling my antivirus. I'm at a standstill with both Steam and Activision support, and I haven't been able to find anything with Google, so I'm REALLY hoping someone here might have some ideas.
If I ever have a problem with a game on steam this always the first thing i do.Tags: Adult Dating, affair dating, sex dating
